Rage Against The Machine - Exclusive UK VIdeo

Legacy Recordings UK , the catalogue division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Rage Against the Machine - XX, commemorative 20th anniversary editions of the eponymous debut album by a great American rock band, on November 26th, 2012.

To celebrate the release here is a UK exclusive video of the incendiary KNOW YOUR ENEMY filmed on June 6th 2010 at the Finsbury Park Victory Concert

The codes are at the bottom of this press release so you can upload it to your site

Originally released in November 1992, Rage Against the Machine signaled the arrival of a revolutionary musical force, a band straddling the worlds of hip-hop and heavy metal with a scorching streetwise sound that rapped and rhymed hardcore across a musical backdrop as menacing and inspirational as graffiti. Rage Against the Machine entered the popular lexicon as more than just a revolutionary American rock band, the group's very name provided a rallying battle cry for the ongoing struggles for liberation--psychic and political--on planet earth.

Formed in 1991, Rage Against The Machine opened the gates of a new boundary-obliterating rock-rap musical alliance with the band's literate and politically-charged debut album. Driven by Tom Morello's unmistakeable guitar wallop and vocalist Zack de la Rocha's salient bulletins from the front, Rage Against the Machine became a critical and commercial success, selling millions of copies around the world while attaining legendary status among alt-rock fans. To this day the album, and the band, remain standard-bearers for uncompromising incendiary rock.

Newly remastered for this anniversary release, Rage Against the Machine - XX will be available as a CD in three configurations: 1) 20th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Box Set housing two CDs, two DVDs, one 12" 180gm vinyl LP, one 40 page booklet and two-sided poster; 2) 20th Anniversary Special Edition featuring two CDs and a bonus DVD featuring six tracks in an oversized softpack and 3) 20th Anniversary Edition single compact disc (with three bonus tracks). 12" 180gm vinyl editions--a picture disc and a facsimile reproduction--of the original LP, remastered (no bonus tracks) will also be available.

Compact Disc One of the newly remastered Rage Against the Machine - XX will include the original album, in its entirety, as well as three collectible b-sides from era.

Compact Disc Two presents the original Rage Against the Machine demo tape. Recorded in 1991 and sold for $5 at the merch table at early Rage shows, the tape achieved mythical word-of-mouth status amongst music fans while helping to seal the band's deal with Epic Records. The 20th anniversary releases of Rage Against the Machine - XX marks the first time the entire RATM demo tapes have seen a full official release.

DVD #1 included in the Deluxe Box Set features Rage Against the Machine's historic free concert in Finsbury Park on June 2010, performed as a thank-you to UK fans for making "Killing in the Name" the UK's Number One Single during Christmas week 2009. Also included is the band's groundbreaking music videos plus live concert performance clips.

DVD#2 takes you back to the release of Rage’s debut album focusing on live performance from 1991-1994 which features the full set of RATM’s first public performance as well as various live, rare clips.

Rage Against the Machine - XX will include new liner notes, penned especially for the band's 20th anniversary by longtime fan and hip-hop pioneer Chuck D.

Insane new album from genre defying mentalists THE ALGORITHM

Not often does an album come along as ground breakingly outstanding as the debut from The Algorithm, "Polymorphic Code". A complete sound clash of genres, electro metal infused with dubstep and trance, plus much, much more.  This, music impossible to predict on first hearing, breakdowns, drops and rests transpire from absolutely nowhere, keeping the listener constantly on their sonic toes.  A work of completely warped genius and available to stream in full on Soundcloud.

Strap yourselves in and prepare for a complete mind fuck of a ride. You might never feel the same ever again.

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT - VERY LIKELY MY ALBUM OF THE YEAR

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT return with their new opus, ‘WIDOWMAKER’ – a viciously haunting voyage into the macabre from the forefront of British extreme metal. Here, DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT grab the metal underground by the throat with some of the most important British extreme metal recordings to emerge in recent years. An eerie masterpiece that pieces together a colossal atmosphere belonging as much to Swans or Neurosis as it does to Autopsy and Burning Witch.

2012 has been a potent year for DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT, developing on the underground acclaim of their “Hatred For Mankind” debut, originally released on Mordgrimm Records (Anaal Nathrakh) and re-released worldwide by Prosthetic in 2010. This mysterious outfit captivated audiences with devastating shows at this year’s Roadburn Festival and the Maryland Death Fest, before heading out on a debut trek across the US, commanding more initiates to their cult as they went. The buzz developed throughout the year, which is crowned by the release of WIDOWMAKER. A merciless foray into more experimental territory perhaps, leached with mournful strings and restrained introspection between the crushing funeral dirge. Three mammoth tracks over forty blackened minutes presented with suitably creepy artwork and packaged in special gatefold digi-wallet and limited die-hard vinyl edition.

The band are also completing a video project as a companion piece to the album, directed by Dwid Hellion of Integrity and audio mastering by Billy Anderson (Neurosis / High On Fire). More news on this to follow.

Terrorizer chronicle DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT as “crushing, sweeping and just plain riffing,” praising their “crusty blackened doom” and “delicious black majesty.” Meanwhile, Metal Hammer distinguished their sound as “a torrent of seething riffs so caustically expansive, they feel as though they’re about the burst out of your skin.  It’s also the sheer, pre-meditated malice that drives them on a systematic rite of destruction, whose domineering, scorched-Earth tactics leave no synapse or nerve-ending unscathed.”

With “Widowmaker”, DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT further their claim to the crown of the UK underground. This grueling three-track, 40-minute release has been described by the band as “a concept album from beginning to end. It’s different yet still leaves the listener thinking whether jumping out of a 4th  floor window might actually be the best idea they’ve ever had.”

A rewarding, often beautiful and more often than not disturbing proposition, this album is one of the most powerful pieces of music you will hear all year.

Check out "Boden - Spijt" on YouTube right now...

 Boden lyrics

carry within

a fear
that blossoms on skin

forever alone

sorrow says
bury my bones

carry within
regret
for everything

tear old pain away

I renounce this day and
I renounce every wound
made in my flesh
made by my flesh

are you awake? what did you see?

I'm a sudden hissing,
right behind your ear.
a white noise

but it's quiet now

I am reason
I am fear

inflict.

I call out
and you fear me

I call out
and all the brothers in the world they hear me

but the pain remains the same

MUDKISS SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER UPDATE

HI TO ALL FRIENDS OF MUDKISS.
OUR UPDATES FOR
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2012
Copy and paste the links into your browser if they don't work.. Let us know if there are any broken links.
Well the Festival season is slowly coming to a close, and the dismal dark nights are drawing in. We've done quite a few Festivals again this year, not as many as we might like to do, but still keeping our hand in. Of course this year was a first for us at the  great explosion of colour at Rebellion in Blackpool, what a superb weekend that was. I think we are still recovering, and of course being supportive with our local music Festivals, the Warrington Festival and Rochdale. Also we managed to get press accreditation for Boomtown Fair, Liverpool Sound City, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, Cambridge Folk Festival, Dot To Dot, and Nice & Sleazy.
We had our  very own Northern Mudkiss music Event and it was a great success. All proceeds from the night went to the bands taking part. Maybe another in Manchester this next year....who knows? [I have yet to do a little write up about it, but we have been so busy since then]

DO YOU WANT TO JOIN US?
Are there any budding music reviewers keen to join Mudkiss? We are looking for dedicated and committed writers, maybe you are a student keen to have a go? We are getting a steady influx of newly released albums, singles and EP's. We would look at the very least 3 albums a month for you to review. So if you think you might have what it takes send a message to editor@mudkiss.com -with some evidence of your work. All we ask is that you don't mess us about.
